This project was undertaken to help inform planning considerations for a solar farm development at a location in rural Hampshire.

An extended survey identified potential for protected species and because of this Phase 2 surveys have been recommended for amphibians, reptiles, breeding birds and bats.

The site is mostly acid grassland, with a smaller part of improved pasture. Smaller, less frequent habitat features include mature trees, wet and dry ditches, watercourses, hedgerows and ponds. Woodlands were recorded adjacent to the outside of the red line boundary.

Lepus Consulting has worked closely with the client and the planning team and recommended that a Phase 2 survey is carried out before any developments take place.
