Examination in public

The Examination in Public is led by a Planning Inspector who will identify the matters and issues affecting the plan’s soundness. These will provide the focus for the examination.

Lepus’ team of chartered ecologists, environmentalists and landscape architects are qualified to provide expert witness services at Public Inquiries and Examination in Public (EiP). Our services include assistance in providing evidence or making reasoned arguments as to why a particular policy direction or planning proposal is being pursued.

We will provide professional and impartial advice based on the standards and credentials of our industries, as set out by the relevant institutes including the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (CIEEM) and the Landscape Institute. Lepus works closely with barristers to ensure that a consistent and robust approach to the inquiry or examination process is adopted. Lepus has prepared written statements and our team of consultant specialists have first-hand experience of appearing at and giving evidence under the process of cross examination.
